当ブログで使用している管理ソフトであるMovableType のバージョンが4.26→5.0に変更され、当ブログもバージョン5へと更新を行い、動作確認も行っておりました。
自前のサーバー上での動画版Podcastを作成・開始するにあたっての手順をご説明します。
I.始める前の下準備
○ 自前／レンタルサーバー（有料）
以前のエントリより、現在主要な動画サイトの大半は「動画データの転送容量」が課題になっています。つきましては自前で動画Podcast運用を行うにあたり、以下2点を満たすサーバーを最初に選定しましょう。
・サーバー管理ソフト「MovableType」が導入可能
・データ収納容量が大きく、かつ、データ転送容量が太いサーバー
私の場合は、エックスサーバーとレンタル契約（X20プラン:¥2100-/月、20GB）しています。
○ ドメイン（有料）
インターネット上における「名前」にあたります（例:rikusentai.jp）。アクセス数アップのためには皆に覚えられやすいドメインの名前をつける必要があります。なお、ドメイン名は早い者勝ちとなっております。
お名前.com、ムームードメインなどで入手すると比較的廉価です。
○ FTPソフト（無料）
サーバーに「MovableType」、動画ファイルをアップロードするために必要となります。
Windowsの場合はFFFTP、Macintoshの場合はFetchが一般的です。また、FireFoxをブラウザで使用していればアドオンとしてFireFTP（Windows/Macintosh両方）も使えます。
II.サーバー上への「MovableType」インストール
以下の要領で、サーバー管理ソフト「MovableType」のアップロード・インストールを行います。（4.x以上が既にサーバーへ導入済の方は問題ありません）
１、MovableType 5（または4.26）をダウンロードします。法人・個人事業主・商用の方は製品版（有料）を、個人・非営利目的の場合はオープンソース版（無料）をそれぞれ入手します。
２、Zip形式で圧縮されているデータを解凍します。
３、FTPソフトでサーバーへアクセスし、サーバー上の"public_html"フォルダ内に新しく"MT"フォルダを作成します。
４、下写真のように、解凍したMovableTypeのデータ全てを、"MT"フォルダ内にアップロードします。
５、サーバー上の"MT"フォルダ内にある、".cgi"で終わっているファイルについて全て「プロパティ」を開きます。
このような画面が表示されるので、数字部分を「755」と入力します。
６、サーバー上の"MT"フォルダ内に、"mt-config.cgi"というファイルがある場合は、そのファイルをサーバー上から削除してください。
７、あとは、http://取得したドメイン/mt と打ち込むと、MovableTypeのインストールが始まります。
※サーバー契約した時の記載内容を入力していきます。
※使用する文字コードは必ず"UTF-8"と設定してください。
