情報収集や取引先、仲間とのやり取りにパソコンは欠かせない。パソコンが使いこなせれば、インターネットを使って自分の農場を紹介したり、農作物の品質をアピールしたり、農作物の生育状況を随時発信したりと、PRや販促活動に活用できる。もっと使いこなして直売所のように使う事もできる。就農すると忙しくてパソコンの勉強をしている余裕などないだろうから、就農前にマスターしておきたい。
出典：いまこそ農業を始める！（イカロス出版、p.38）とありますように、これから農業を始めるにあたっては「ネット販売」（参考：有機のがっこう「土佐自然塾野菜」セット）を考慮するとパソコンやインターネットの活用は非常に重要であると言えます。
農産物のネット販売は、
"小ロットでの発注になりがちで輸送経費がかかるものの、２４時間３６５日営業しており真夜中や日中等、電話に出られない時に受注や問い合わせが可能"
という特性をもっています。
特に問い合わせで「お客様からの生の声」を聞く事ができるのは、またとない機会であり、今後農業を続けて行く上で大きな励みや勉強になると言えるでしょう。
ただし、お客様との問い合わせ応対については「一部始終がネットに公開され、第三者が容易に確認できる」という可能性を考慮し、お客様の状況を斟酌した丁寧な対応が重要と思われます。
「問い合わせをする」＝「興味関心を持っている」ことを意味しますから、このチャンスはぜひ生かしたいですね！
